Per lo sviluppo dei singoli argomenti di questa parte, che contiene la descrizione delle principali e più usate tecniche statistiche di indagine, viene seguito, nell'esposizione analitica e nella quasi totalità dei casi, il criterio di trattazione specifica dell'argomento sulla base dei dati statistici, effettivi e non tipicamente rappresentativi di fenomeni sportivi dell'atletica leggera. Per alcuni di questi sono state definite analiticamente anche iniziali ipotesi di previsione circa le relative future situazioni tecniche.
